Practical Buddhist Wisdom:
Karma

Tomorrow 10-11:30am
(after Prayers for World Peace at 9am)

You've probably seen a sign in a store that says, "Stealing is Bad Karma." Isn't it interesting that karma is usually discussed in terms of either punishment or bad luck. It is often thought of as some mysterious force that has us in its grip. Have you ever thought about karma as the raw material from which we can create our life and our world? What is karma? How does it work? How can I make conscious choices to weave the tapestry of life? Thekchen and Chonyi have meditated for nearly 10 years, and share Buddhist principles for overcoming challenges in daily life and finding peace and joy. If you'd like to request a future topic, feel free to contact us.

Teachings with Rinpoche
Friday & Saturday June 1st & 2nd

Join us for evening and afternoon events with Domo Geshe Rinpoche. Rinpoche is a Lama in the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, where meditation techniques have been refined over more than a thousand years. With warmth and humor, she teaches timeless and universal spiritual truths that are not restricted by language or culture. Rinpoche has taught internationally on how to overcome the mental obstacles of stress, anger, worry, and discouragement so we can reach our highest potential – a heart of authentic compassion and wisdom.

Conscious End-of-Life Training
June 16

The Conscious End-of-Life Training Program offers a dynamic, fresh approach to end-of-life care under the direction of Domo Geshe Rinpoche, a western reincarnate lama in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Although key elements of the teachings are based on ancient Buddhist principles, this unique program is open to all individuals —regardless of their personal spiritual orientation. This training includes lectures and discussion on key concepts and principles necessary for effective care-giving; experiential on-site exercises and take-home assignments that help develop deeper self-awareness and personal growth; and monthly facilitated group meetings (available through conference calls) for support through sharing of experiences, reflections and thoughts. Next Foundations of Yogic Healing course

Yogic Healing is a method of healing using the mind and inner process in conjunction with altruistic compassion.
- Domo Geshe Rinpoche

We are overjoyed to announce the next Foundations of Yogic Healing program, beginning this fall. This program may be taken by those wishing to deepen an existing healing practice, or to deepen their own spiritual process and healing.

Read our article in the Natural Awakenings April issue

In Tibet, Lamas served as spiritual physicians which society called upon to address physical, mental and spiritual issues. Up until now, the techniques they used have been little understood in the West, because they were traditionally taught only to advanced meditators. Because they are based on “inner yogas,” these techniques are called Yogic Healing.

Here is what a graduate of our first Foundations course had to say:

[The program offered] a different kind of meditation than anything I had done before...and as a result, my "rough edges" of feeling too much stress, getting impatient, and being judgmental are being replaced with a much deeper foundation of compassion and respectful self-care. On the drive home from our final session, the sunshine washed over the countryside like honey and everything looked radiant and new...just like I felt inside. A deep and pervasive sense of gratitude grew and remains. Thank you - each and every one of you - for being such a loving community!
