Mary Kay Reinemann is a retired teacher who discovered Marshall Rosenberg’s “Nonviolent Communication” (NVC) in May of 2004. She recognized NVC as a simple, generic, complete and transformative practice which she could hope to learn and integrate in a single lifetime.

Mary Kay’s teaching is informed by grounded, personal experience leading to holistic, embodied and interpersonal connection through communication. You might think of it as ‘meditation for the mouth.’ In order to practice in group settings, Mary Kay began teaching and organizing practice groups in 2007.  Mary Kay now facilitates several Madison area communities of practice and has offered training in a variety of venues including Wisconsin prisons, schools, church and service communities. Mary Kay was a founding member of the Madison Area NVC, now known as the Wisconsin Empathy Guild. She is  enjoying watching a whole community blossom into being.

Mary Kay’s primary teacher, Robert Gonzales, is a former president of the NVC board of directors and the founder of Living Compassion. Mary Kay is a member of Robert’s LIFE (Learning, Integration and Full Embodiment) class of 2009-10 and 2014-15, which is an ongoing community of practice.Mary Kay has studied with many trainers, including Marshall Rosenberg, Miki Kashtan, Susan Skye, Kathleen McFerran, Sarah Peyton, and Richard & Jill Broadbent.
